2008-2009 Season

The 2008-2009 Season, opens Tuesday, September 2, 2008 with Senior Movie Classics Tuesday showing of the Wizard of Oz. The year will be one of great entertainmet from Concerts to Plays, Musicals to recitals. This year their will be something for everyone and all for all ages. "FIGHT NIGHT" - Saturday, September 13, 2008 - 7:00 pm
Presented by Infinity Boxing. Infinity is a non-profit organization promoting health, fitness and recreation. Come and enjoy an evening of amateur boxing center stage at the Millennium. The evening is made up of approximately 14 bouts each from different weight classes and ages. These young boys and yes even girls compete in 3 round fights. If you have never expereinced amateur boxing, perhaps you should stop by and take a look! The ticket proceeds go to help Infinity Boxing give kids an alternative to the streets!
"A Grand Night for Singing" - Saturday, September 27, 2008 8:00 pm
A Grand Night for Singing to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the City of Southfield. Presented by the Millennium Theatre, Cornerstone Development Authority and Off Broadway Productions. Tickets are only $15.00 per person. Tickets are on sale now! Get yours and join the celebration!
BODY RHYTHM DANCE THEATRE - DEBUT RECITAL - Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 8:00 pm
Body Rhythm Dance Theatre has been preparing for their Debut concert for three years, which is taking place this fall Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Millennium Center in Southfield. The ensemble is a modern dance company, consisting of thirteen dancers. These dancers perform a repertoire of modern, jazz, hip hop in theme and ethnic. This diversity enables the audiences to appreciate and enjoy the creativeness of each dance.
"WINNIE THE POOH CHRISTMAS TAIL" - December  13 & 14th
A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail runs December 13 and 14, 2008. This holiday season at the Millennium Centre you’ll find your best pals—Pooh, Piglet,Christopher Robin, Tigger, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo, Owl, and Eeyore—live and on stage just in time for the holidays. This production is based on the beloved stories by A.A. Milne, with music and lyrics by James W. Rodgers.
THEATREWORKS USA - " If you Give a Pig a Pancake" - Wednesday, December 17, 2008 10:00 am & 12:30 pm
Theatreworks USA is back for another terrific season of kids shows, starting off with a classic childrens book "If you giv a Pig a Pancake" A bossy pig's demands frazzle a little girl in this hilarious lesson about cause-and-effect.
"A CHRISTMAS CAROL" - December 19, 20 & 21, 2008
From the pages of Dickens comes this scintillating musical adaptation of the Yuletide classic that continues to touch hearts and minds the world over. This universal story is ultimately one of family and conscience, of desperation and regret and second chances. Give your family and friends the holiday gift of embracing its warmth and wisdom as never before, carried on the wings of a soaring theatrical score.

Hooray, hooray! TheatreworksUSA is making a brand-new musical (that is a play all jumbled together with singing and dancing, I believe). And what do you know! It's all about me, Junie B. Jones! (The B stands for Beatrice, only I do not like Beatrice. I just like B and that's all.)

Harriet Tubman was born a slave, but when she was 25 she made her perilous escape from a Maryland plantation, leaving her family behind. Pursued by dogs and relentless slave catchers, she followed an escape route laid out by Quakers -- secret hiding places in churches, barns, cellars and homes.
THEATREWORKS USA - "Charlotte's Web" - Thursday, May 7, 2009 10:00 am  & 12:30 pm
Theatreworks' production of Charlotte's Web is based on E.B. White's loving story of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider named Charlotte.
