What is the Millennium Centre ?
The Millennium Centre is one of Metro Detroit's premier entertainment and conference venues. Built in 1965 and fully renovated in October of 2000, this 1,028 seat performing arts center serves a multitude of cultural, entertainment, and business needs. The Millennium Centre is located in Southfield's Cornerstone District and is easily accessible from all of Metro Detroit's major highways. The proscenium arch stage is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting for even the most elaborate productions. The Centre also boasts a 30-foot wide movie screen with 35mm film, 70mm film, and digital video projection capabilities. Furthermore, nearly 4,000 square feet of lobby space is available for receptions, banquets, business lunches, dinners, and afterglows. Other features include: full-service bar, lighted and secured parking, and handicap accessibility. Our friendly, professional staff is ready to help make your next event a success. We host a variety of amazing events from international ballets to Broadway-style musicals, symphony to cool jazz, movie premiers to business conferences. Cornerstone Development Authority
In 2000, the Cornerstone Development Authority designated the area within its boundaries as the Cornerstone District – Southfield. This special District is undergoing dramatic improvements to establish a campus-like setting and help maintain the prosperity District residents are experiencing.
